FAQ

1. ABA, SLP, AS, CI... oh, my! What does it all mean?
Like many other professions, educators over the years created their own lingo. After spending 4 + years around this language, it's almost second nature to me, as I am sure it is to some of you. If at any time, though, something in a post is vague, confusing, or just too many letters to decipher, feel free to consult this page or contact me! I will try to use a clear, concise language but mistakes are inevitable. The following alphabetical list will grow as content is added:

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
ADHD/ADD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/Attention Deficit Disorder)
AS (Autistic Support or Autism Spectrum)
BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst)
BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)
CI (Cognitive Impairment)
DTI (Discrete Trial Instruction, see also DTT)
DTT (Discrete Trial Teaching, see also DTI)
PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified)
SLP (Speech-Language Pathologist)

2. Are you a BCaBA or BCBA?
K: Yes! I am a BCBA as well as a Licensed Behavior Specialist.

J: Not yet! I'm currently studying to sit for the BCBA exam.

3. Where can I follow you?
