Meet the Teachers

My name is Kortnie, one of two members of the SPED Squad, and full-time Autistic Support teacher.  I hold my BA in Early Childhood and Special Education.  I also hold my MS in Applied Behavior Analysis, am a Licensed Behavior Specialist, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  I've wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and achieving this goal is a great feeling!

ADD ANOTHER PARAGRAPH HERE

When I'm not busy teaching, consulting, supervising, researching, or blogging I can be found playing fetch with my 3 fur babies, crafting with my 5-year-old, or binge watching White Collar or NCIS on Netflix!  It's a crazy, busy life but I wouldn't want it any other way!

My name is Jenna, the second member of the SPED Squad!  I too am a full-time Autistic Support teacher, heading into my 6th year of teaching Autistic Support.  I hold my BA in Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis.  I also hold my MS in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and am a Licensed Behavior Specialist.

Previously, I've taught Kindergarten-3rd grade, 3rd-5th grades, and currently am teaching 6th-7th grade Autistic Support.  I'm also a part-time Behavior Specialist Consultant where I help my client's and their families with building language, increasing functional daily living skills, and dealing with problem behaviors.  During the summers I am the site-supervisor for a summer camp for students with autism where the focus is on building language skills.

When I'm not busy teaching, consulting, researching, studying, or blogging I can be found in the kitchen baking! I love making cakes (wedding, birthday, graduation), cookies, and cupcakes!  If I'm not in the kitchen I can be found watching MARVEL movies!
